Emerging Weavers Cohort Member
Taos, New Mexico
As a kid, Seth grew up making and selling jewelry at Farmers Markets with his family. He's passionate about finding ways for artists to market, sell, and make a sustainable living with their art.
Recently, Seth took a Fleece Processing workshop at the Española Valley Fiber Arts Center. There, he learned how to wash, pick, card, and spin wool —and he especially loves Navajo-Churro sheep.
Currently, he has been working under the guidance of carver Daniel Barela, Director of the Hacienda de Los Martinez, to use traditional practices for the adobe restoration at the Martinez Hacienda. Seth also helped to restore the dirt floors in our weaving room there!
Seth has also been learning printmaking with Associate Professor Gary Cook at UNM-Taos. Seth loves learning from the community of elder & expert printmakers in the Art Department, and has exhibited his prints at the Atrium Gallery's inaugural INK: Taos Contemporary Printmakers show, at the Taos Center for the Arts' Stables Gallery, and at the New Mexico Department of Higher Education.
